Role Summary
We are seeking a Production Assistant to support the CANAL+ live sports production operations in Vienna.
The role provides production and first-line technical assistance within our live production environment and serves as a communication link between all relevant teams during event days.
The position ensures the smooth operation of the on-site technical setup and contributes to the overall workflow of our international broadcast.
Responsibilities
• Support the daily operation and monitoring of the on-site technical live production setup in Vienna
• Provide first-level technical assistance and initiate troubleshooting during live operations
• Coordinate and maintain clear communication with production, editorial, and technical teams in Vienna and abroad
• Assist in preparing, maintaining, and overseeing equipment used for live broadcast activities, including commentary-related systems
• Perform setup checks and basic functionality tests prior to transmission windows
• Document and relay technical or operational issues to the appropriate departments
• Assist with operational logistics on event days, including readiness checks and workflow coordination
• Ensure that production areas remain organised, accessible, and operational throughout the live schedule
• Follow established operational and technical procedures and escalate issues appropriately
Profile
• Technical aptitude; broadcast/live production experience preferred
• Strong communicational and organizational skills
• Reliable, structured, and calm under live conditions
• English and German required; Polish and/or French beneficial
• On-site in Vienna during operational hours
Engagement
• Production days: Thursday–Sunday
• Operational window: late morning to late evening
• Freelance rate applies
